We already announced in another article that Twitter significantly restricts the API. It was also unclear to us up until then how things would continue with @SWTOR_news_de and @SWTOR_retweet. Now we have the result and unfortunately there is good news and bad news...
Let's start with the good news first: @SWTOR_news_de will continue to exist and keep you informed about the latest updates in SWTOR. We will also continue to answer your questions that you write to us! However, what will no longer be possible with immediate effect is retweeting your community tweets and official tweets.
Even if it's not easy for me, I have to tell you that we unfortunately have to stop supporting @SWTOR_retweet because Twitter no longer provides us with the data we need.
Unfortunately, the free API only allows you to post tweets, not read or retweet them. I will not pay for access either as I don't want to support this type of rip off.
I continue to believe that @SWTOR_retweet is an important part of the SWTOR community. However, it is currently impossible for us to continue the account in any way.
Therefore, the @SWTOR_retweet Twitter account will be shut down for the time being. The account itself will remain read-only, but we will no longer send new retweets.
If you have any ideas on how I could continue this project, please write to me via Discord or Twitter. I'm really looking forward to your ideas!
